It is that time of year to make course selections for your students for the 2015-2016 school year. Attached you will find a copy of the course selection sheet for future students in grades 5-12. I have included the selection sheets below. Please look over the selection sheet carefully. Your child should have, as a minimum, a math, science, English and social studies course. They then can choose electives. Choose electives in the order of preference. Not all electives may be filled with first choices. Please return these sheets to the front desk. They will only be accepted if they are signed by the parent and student. Students will not be allowed to register for classes without parent signature. I will select the student's schedule for them if I do not have a signed form.
All forms for grades 5-9 are due by next Friday, March 6th at the end of the school day.
All forms for grades 10-12 are due by Friday, March 13th at the end of the school day.
I have set up meetings if you have any questions. They are as follows per grade level:
4-5 - 4pm in room 411 in the High School Building
6-7 - 4:45pm in room 411 in the High School Building
8 - Freshmen Orientation - 5:30 in the cafeteria
9-11 - 4pm in room 411 in the High School Building
If your students have filled out a form with parent permission, the students will be entering their schedules into a self-serve requester online. All students will be restricted to enter what is on the sheet and will require my approval code.
I will be entering the students' English class to complete the request process. This is the schedule:
Monday March 9th, Jost - Periods 1-5
Tuesday March 10th, Withsorke - Periods 6-10
Wednesday March 11th, Condit - Periods 1-4
Thursday March 12th, Burleigh - Period 5 and Condit - Periods 6-8
Friday March 13th, 7:45am in room 411 for all absent students
Wednesday March 25th Gaston (Brinegar), Smith - periods 1-4
Thursday March 26th Gaston (Brinegar), Smith, Burleigh - Periods 5-8
Friday March 27th, 7:45am in room 411 for all absent students
If you need help looking up course descriptions or have questions about what courses may be offered next year, the Course Catalog is where you will find the answers. Gateway has decided to stick with last year's course catalog. Students may select electives based upon pre-requisites that are in the catalog. Based upon limited classes, administration will choose which classes have the greatest demand and will create those classes. This is the student's chance to vote to see which classes make. It is important that you get your sheet in on time.
